FRIDAY – August 29, 2008

Well September is right around the corner and so is my next visit to Chicago.  The Summer just flew by but I can’t wait to see what the doctors in Chicago have to say regarding my progress and what I can do and what I still cannot do.  I feel really good and energetic.  Nothing hurts and that is a good sign.  Maybe those little stem cells are finally finding out where to go in my body.  My next entry will be on September 2nd so have a great weekend.       Mike

THURSDAY – August 28, 2008

Sorry about the dates.  I have just been hitting enter instead of checking the calendar.  Well I feel good today but a little sore on the top of my head.  You see I was talking to some friends at the marina yesterday for over an hour and did not realize that the sun was so intense.  I wasn’t wearing a hat so therefore the top of my head looks like a tomato.      Mike

It is another great day.  I am feeling very good and expect to get out and about today.  I have a lot of errands to do and since I have the time, I might as well get them done now.  Have a good day.     Mike

TUESDAY – August 19, 2008

WOW!  What a change in temperature.  It is nice sleeping but I love the heat and Summer was to short.  I do feel good and energetic.  My friend in California, Victoria is also doing well.  She is up and about and off of oxygen completely.  I am really happy for her.         Mike

MONDAY – August 18, 2008

FRIDAY – August 22, 2008

Well a lot has happened since yesterday.  Chicago called me last evening and told me that my blood looks so good that instead of getting blood drawn every 2 weeks and faxing the results to them that I can now do it only once a month.  I also spoke to Brenda Jager whose husband John also has Scleroderma and is just getting ready to start his procedure.  They live in Michigan and are a little apprehensive but know that this has to be done if he wants to continue living.  He is only 42 yrs. old and is having difficulty breathing.  They seem very nice and I shared some of my experiences with them.  I told them how the town, my neighbors, and my friends and family all worked together in various fundraisers to help me.  Today was also my last day in Physical Therapy.  I feel some pain but it is much, much better than when I started.  I really feel energized and good.  Have a nice weekend.      Mike

THURSDAY – August 21, 2008

Well today I am feeling super.  I really feel good.  Tomorrow is my last day of Physical Therapy.  I am also in the process of helping a man in Michigan who also has Scleroderma and is also being denied by his insurance companies.      Mike

WEDNESDAY – August 20, 2008

I am feeling really good again today.  My only problem is bending over to pick things up from the floor.  Other than that I am feeling very good.  My last Physical Therapy is Friday and I seem to be getting better and better.  I want to get out and get some exercise today.     Mike

TUESDAY – August 19, 2008

I feel really good today.  I went to see my Cardiologist and he said that everything looks fine.  He said that my last stress test was in 2006 so he scheduled me for one before I go to Chicago to be re-evaluated.     Mike

MONDAY – August 18, 2008

It was a great weekend.  I got a great massage, which also included stretching of  my leg and foot on Sunday morning.  After this my son took me to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and we walked and walked.  I was a little sore today but after Physical Therapy, I feel great.  I have two more sessions left.            Mike
