TUESDAY – August 31, 2010

Good morning.  I will be going to see my grand daughters today before they start school.   I had a horribl nights sleep with this pain in my back.  When I get back if it doesn’t subside then I will go to the doctor.  It should be real hot and humid today so I think I will be either in the ocean or in the pool all day with the “girls”.  Enjoy your day and keep cool.       Mike

MONDAY – August 30, 2010

Good morning.  I’m sorry that it is so late but I have been fishing for the last four days with yesterday being a fishing tournament with my fishing club.  I’m really sore today as my body took a pounding but it was worth it.  As for the tournament, we came in second place with a fluke tha weighed 3.85 lbs.  The winner was 4.50 lbs. and won $ 280.00 dollars.  It was a good day however I got to the weigh-in station 2 minutes late and even if I had the heaviest fish, it would not have counted.  This was my heaviest fish but I also had two others over 3 lbs.  I caught them on my lightest rod and it was really fun.  In fact the rod that I caught them on was the same rod that I made for my kids when they were young.  They have great action and are fun using.  All in all it was a fun day with over 30 fish being caught and released.  I really feel sore today and my back and right side are killing me.  My right knee is also really hurting.  This could all be from the long days on the water and the pounding of the waves.  I was fishing from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day.  The weather has been so nice I just wanted to enjoy it before the cold returns.  So that was my weekend, now enjoy your day.         Mike

WEDNESDAY – August 25, 2010

Good morning.  Here is a picture of a small restaurant on the bay by my daughter’s house that we had lunch in one afternoon while “dog-sitting”.  I went to the dentist yesterday and all was fine.  As for this weather, we surely needed the rain but it is so dismal.  My son gets rain everyday in the rain-forest but only for 30-60 minutes.  Then the sun comes out and it is beautiful.  Here we get an entire week of nastiness.  I feel very good and am looking forward to this weekend.  I will be in another fluke tournament with my fishing club.  It should be interesting.  Enjoy your day.      Mike

TUESDAY – August 24, 2010

Good morning.  Here is a picture of “the girls” just outside of Carmine’s in Atlantic City.  We went there for dinner and they loved it.  Yesterday my daughter called and said that “the girls” got into trouble.  Evidentally they got a hold of their mother’s perfume and were spraying the entire house.  Michele said that it was so strong that it was burning your eyes.  I can’t get over this change of weather.  Last night I was sleeping under covers with a blanket.  And today I have long pants on for the first time this summer.  I hate the “cold”.  My doctor told me that I’m doing fine but that he still wants to keep me on some inflamatory medicine until my joint pain subsides.  My blood tests were fine except for my liver enzymes which are always elevated.  I have a dentist appointment later this afternoon.  Enjoy this cool weather.          Mike

MONDAY – August 23, 2010

Good day.  I’m sorry that I was unable to keep up with my blog over the past week but I was unable to get into my site on my daughter’s computer.  Last week we were dog-sitting, “BUJU”, while my daughter, her husband , and the girls used our timeshare in Atlantic City.  They had a great time and we also had fun watching BUJU.  We went down to see them in Atlantic City on Tuesday and went to dinner at Carmines. Here is a picture of BUJU as he is now 8 months old.  He is very funny but also gets into a lot of trouble.   I have a doctor’s appointment today at 2:30 PM.  I am feeling fine.  My back is still bothering me a little.  I can’t believe that Summer is almost over.  Ot seems like it was June just yesterday.   Well, have a nice day.            Mike

THURSDAY – August 12, 2010

Hello.   This is my daughter, Michele’s dog, BUJU.  He is 2 months old here.  Tomorrow I will be going to her house to “dog-sit” BUJU (who is now 7 months old) while she goes on vacation with her family.  This should really be an adventure because BUJU is a lot bigger and much more energetic now.  He really is a cool dog and is very friendly.  I will try to keep up my blog while I’m down there.  I am feeling better since I went to the doctor yesterday.  I also got a massage which helped tremendously.  I just got off the phone with my son, Christopher and he was in town picking up the barrels that we sent to him.  He now lives on an island in the Caribbean called Dominica which is located in the Grenadines.  It is very plush and green because of all the rain that he gets especially where he is at which is in the top of a rain forest.  He and two other families have 62 acres and want to develop an organic farm and eco-village.  Within 6 months, everything that they will need will be grown on their land and they will be totally self sustainable.  Enjoy your day.          Mike

WEDNESDAY – August 11, 2010

Good morning.  Boy, do I look like “Mike Nelson” or what?  Here I am getting ready to go snorkeling in the Caribbean last Winter.  I hurt my back again and am about to go back to the doctor.  This is really frustrating.  Just when I thought it was getting better, I pushed myself and made it worse.  It should be hot today so be careful and enjoy the day.      Mike
