I guess I’m getting out of here just in time with this cold weather returning. I’m not leaving until Feb. 9th and I will have a computer down there but I don’t know if I will have an internet connection. I will try my best to write to you but it may be only 2 or 3 days a week. I will be on an island and going from island to island. My son said that it is beautiful and warm. I could sure use the warm weather because this weather sucks. I used to laugh when I saw all of those senior citizens going to Florida. I don’t laugh anymore. In fact I envy them. I am feeling very good just tired. Last night I went to bed at 9:30 and did not get up until 8:00 this morning. I need to get out and swim, walk along the beach, and enjoy all of the warm air. That’s living. THURSDAY – January 28, 2010
Good Day. The snow is really beautiful but it is also starting to get colder. Tomorrow is supposed to be the coldest and it should carry us right through the weekend. I have a doctor’s appointment later. I’m trying to get all of my appointments out of the way before I leave. I am feeling very good and as I said yesterday I’m sure that the warm climate will also help me. Also being with my son, who doesn’t eat any meat means that I also will be on a meatless diet. So I am eating meat everyday to try to bulk up. My son is a good cook and his meatless dishes are very good. I hope to also do some fishing and that should also supplement my diet. Who knows…I just might return with a whole new outlook on eating. Enjoy your day. Mike

WEDNESDAY – January 27, 2010
Well, here comes the cold again. Last night I booked my flight to go and see my son in St Vincent in the Grenadines. He said it is 80-85 degrees down there. I will be going from Feb. 9- March 23. I am feeling very good and I’m sure that the warm weather will also help. With these long cold days and the way my body reacts to the cold, this will be a pleasant break. I just dread the long flight. My plane will leave at 6:00AM and I won’t arrive at his island until 7:10 PM. I will have to change planes three times and I also have layovers of 2 – 4 hrs. So it should be a very long day. Between now and then, I have a lot to do. So, have a nice day and enjoy whatever you are doing. Mike

MONDAY – January 25, 2010
Good Morning. I was talking to my friend in Southern California on Friday and he said that it was raining and cold and windy all week out there. Today we are getting some of the rain and wind. I just keep looking out my back window and because of the high winds and the soft ground there is a big pine tree that keeps swaying back and forth. I sure hope that their roots are deep and healthy. I got a call from a lawyer on Saturday night and she is representing a 21 year old girl who has Scleroderma. They are trying to get her insurance company to cover her expenses. She just wanted me to write to the court and to tell them how I now feel since my stem cell transplant. I sent that letter off yesterday and also forwarded her letter to some people that I know who also have Scleroderma and have been treated. I feel so sorry for the girl because she is so young and has not had a chance to really experience life. My grand daughters went to the IZOD center Saturday to see “Disney on Ice”. Well, they know all of the characters and watched the show in awe. Then when Cinderella came out, Kira (the younger one) stood up and shouted “Cinderella, here I am.” You see that is her favorite character. When the show was over, they did not want to leave. I guess we will just have to find another show for them to see. I am feeling fine and will probably just stay indoors today and keep dry. Mike

Well it is Friday and the end of the week is finally here. It looks as though the storm is going to miss us and that we might actually get some descent weather. The rest of the country is getting bombarded with either snow, rain, or cold. So I guess we are pretty lucky. I am feeling fine. I want to see if I can go to the Apple store for another one on one class. I have loads of questions and want to find out how I can better use my computer. Well I’m really starting to get into cooking once again. My sister told me to try cooking chicken catachatore in a slow cooker. So she told me what to do and it came out great. Then she called last night to tell me to google “delish” and click on it to find more recipes. So I went on the computer and clicked on “delish” and up came delishass.com. So being naive, I clicked on it thinking it was short for delicious but it was not. It was a porn site showing women in thongs with their ass. Needless to say, I called my sister back and asked her what she was drinking. I could see all of the men reading this now going to there computer to checkout my story. I am feeling good. I have a dental appointment later and then some paperwork to keep me busy. Enjoy your day. Mike

Good Morning. I got some good news on Friday from my surgeon. He said that I don’t need to have surgery and to go and have fun. I will keep an eye on it but in the meantime, I’m going to take his advice and in three weeks, go and visit my son at St. Vincent in the Grenadines. I hope to stay there for about 3-4-5 weeks. I don’t know yet but I do know that it is sunny and nice and warm. We plan to visit some of the islands down there that I heard so much about. I am feeling tired quite a bit and stiff. I just think that is from this weather which keeps me cooped up. I also went to see my grand daughters this weekend. They are soooo funny. I love being around them. They come out with the cutest and most original sayings. Well, I have to go and shower because I have two doctor’s appointments today. Enjoy your day. Mike

It sure was a beautiful day yesterday. I had a good time yesterday with some of my friends from the high school where I worked. They called and asked me to go to a sportsmen show and I said sure. Well we talked and talked and had a ball. The show was pretty good and I even saw quite a few people that I knew at the show. I have an appointment with my surgeon today.
