MONDAY – November 30, 2009

I feel miserable.  How is that for a start.  I’ve been in bed since the day after Thanksgiving sleeping (18-20 hrs./day) .  Tomorrow I was supposed to have surgery but I called my surgeon to cancel because I can’t stop coughing and sneezing.  This has gone on for 4 days.  I just made an appointment with my primary care physician to check me out this morning.  I got a flu and pneumonia shot last month but I am so prevalent to getting pneumonia even with the shot.  So we will wait to see what happens.  I sure hope that you have a better day.      Mike

FRIDAY – November 27, 2009

I hope that you have all recovered from eating so much turkey.  I got up yesterday and was coughing and sneezing all day.  Last night I went to sleep early but I had a sore throat.  Today I slept until 9:00 and I still feel horrible.  I am supposed to have surgery on Tuesday but that might change.  I just don’t want this congestion to settle in my lungs and give me pneumonia.  I have to call the surgeon later and see what he wants me to do.  My grand daughters are here and I really wanted to play with them but I am so afraid to get to close to them because I don’t want them to get sick.  I will see you on Monday so enjoy the weekend.          Mike

WEDNESDAY – November 25, 2009

Well today is the day before the “Big Feast”.  I am feeling good  and ready to eat a BIG meal.  I want to take this time to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving and to also thank you for your support and prayers.  Just you being there for me has meant a lot for my mental state.  Again, thank you and enjoy your holiday.   Mike

TUESDAY – November 24, 2009

Well I’m off to the hospital this morning for my Pre Admission Testing and then back to the dentist.  There are some accidents on the road so I had better get a jump start and see if I can get around them.     Mike

MONDAY – November 23, 2009

I just heard from my friend John who had a lung transplant.  He is doing very well and wants to thank everyone for his prayers.  This was done about 6 weeks ago in Pittsburgh and now he is ready to be discharged.  He needed this done before he could get a stem cell transplant.  I am so happy for him and his new bride.  They got married just before he went in to get his transplant.  I am feeling good and today I am off to see my dentist.  Enjoy this yucky weather and keep smiling.       Mike

FRIDAY – November 20, 2009

What a beautiful day.  My painter came this morning courtesy of the roofer to do my back porch.  He will be back on Monday to finish and the roofer is scheduled to be here tomorrow to finish.  I have been going back and forth to the hospital and doctors for various tests.  My triglyceride level is high and so is my liver function so I have to watch what I eat and get on a low fat diet.  They also found a lump in my chest that they want to biopsy and hopefully remove.  That will be done on December 1st.  So that is all the good news.  It has been a very busy week.  I am feeling good and hope that you all have a very pleasant weekend.   Mike

THURSDAY – November 19, 2009

I’m sorry about the double posting yesterday but I am trying to insert photos into my blog and I am experimenting as I am learning.  I just love this new computer.  It is so fast and there is so much that I can do.  I am off to the hospital shortly for more testing and then to the doctor and after that a Port Authority meeting.  So as you can see, my day is pretty full today.  Yesterday the gutter man was here to install gutters and drains to my house.  Maybe it will be done by Thanksgiving.  I am feeling OK.  Enjoy this gloomy day.     Mike

I’m sorry that this posting is so late but I am really whipped from yesterday.  I was at the hospital from 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM getting test after test and waiting and all on an empty stomach.  By the end of the day, I was really beat.  I went to bed early and slept until 9:00 AM today.  Now tomorrow I have to go back to the hospital and get more tests; however tomorrow should not be as bad because my first test isn’t until 9:00 AM.  I did get some good news yesterday from the technician who did my Pulmonary Function Test (PFT).  She said that my readings for my lungs were off the chart and that she has not had a patient whose readings were like mine while she was working.  I’m just hoping that the other tests will show something so that my problem can be corrected.  Enjoy your day.      Mike
