Well quite a bit has happened since yesterday. I went to my GI doctor and informed him that my new meds for my stomach were not working. He said that he had no other alternative but to give me over the counter medications. Then he said that he would like to speak to my cardiologist about the medication that he initially prescribed. I just got a call from his office this morning and they told me that they spoke to the cardiologist and that the original medication was fine and that Nexium was no good. This is great news because the original medication, Kapidex really made me feel much better. So I’m off to the pharmacy to get some relief. Have a great weekend. Mike

THURSDAY – May 28, 2009
Everything here is fine except for my stomach. Since my doctor changed my medicine, my stomach and esophagus really burns. I have to call him today and tell him what is happening. It seems like it never ends. I just want the pain to go away. Mike

WEDNESDAY – May 27, 2009
This week is really flying. I feel good but my stomach and esophagus really burns. I’m going to split my medicine up and take one in the AM and one in the PM. I want to see if that will help. Other than that, I feel great. Enjoy the rain. Mike

What a great weekend! I feel good but my stomach is burning at night. I don’t think this new medication is strong enough. I will bring this to his attention when I see him. Mike

FRIDAY – May 22, 2009
Well, I was right. I told my doctor yesterday about my conflict in medications and he agreed with me. I told him that the medication was working and was good but I don’t want him to cure my stomach and meanwhile I get a heart attack. This is a lesson for everyone. Whenever you get a new medication, go to google and type in the name and look under “side effects”. Read them and if there is a discrepancy, bring it to your doctor’s attention. So much for the good stomach medicine. But I’d rather have a sore stomach than have a heart attack. Otherwise I’m feeling fine. Get out there and enjoy this fine weather because we have some rain coming. Mike

THURSDAY – May 21, 2009
I just got a phone call that my wife will be discharged today from the hospital. I have a doctor’s appointment this afternoon. I’m feeling fine, however the doctor that I will be seeing gave me a new medication which is working great but conflicts with two other medications that I am currently taking. We have to talk about this. Enjoy this beautiful weather. This is my kind of weather. Mike

WEDNESDAY – May 20, 2009
I hope that I have the day and date correct because it has been a crazy week. Yesterday’s surgery went well with Alice. They removed two large stones from her pancreatic duct. Today they will be taking her gall bladder out. If all goes well, tomorrow or Friday, she should be home. Thank you all for calling. This was pretty scary. I am feeling fine. I learned to do a lot around the house. I was never allowed to touch the washer…but I did and three loads later I feel like an expert. I don’t know what the big deal was. Now hopefully life will settle down and maybe we can do some fishing. Mike

I’m sorry that I did not write yesterday but I have been running back and forth to the hospital for my wife. Her surgery was put off yesterday and will be done today at 9:00. I feel fine, just a little tired. I will write again when I’m home. Mike

FRIDAY – May 15, 2009
Well Friday is finally here. It is beautiful outside and I have two fishing tournaments that I am in but on Wednesday, I had to rush my wife to the hospital because of a gall bladder attack. She is still in the hospital and they plan on doing surgery on Monday. So it looks like my two tournaments will have to wait. I am feeling fine. Enjoy your weekend and I hope to see you again on Monday. Mike
