WEDNESDAY – December 31, 2008

I can’t tell if it is going to rain or snow. The weather is weird. Today is my son’s birthday. It is like the whole world celebrates his birthday. I am feeling fine. I am a little stiff but I believe that is from the arthritis and not the scleroderma. I am also reading quite a few articles about other people who had the same procedure that I had and it really helped them also. It did not cure them but it did stop the progression of the disease. TUESDAY – December 30, 2008

I am sorry for not writing for the past week but my computer has been down. I cannot access the internet. Comcast is coming today and I hope that the problem will be fixed. Yesterday was my birthday and my daughter came up with my grand daughters and took me out to breakfast and later to dinner. Then when we came home they had a birthday cake for me. My son also came over and joined us. It was a nice day. I am feeling fine but am tired a lot. My joints also have been bothering me. Other than that, I feel fine. Mike

FRIDAY – December 26, 2008

I hope that you all had a pleasant holiday. Today would have been my father’s birthday. A few days from now is my birthday and my son’s is on New Year’s Eve. The entire world celebrates his birthday. It’s all in the planning. I am feeling fine, just a little tired and stiff from the weather. I’m still on some medicine from the hospital which I believe is making me tired. Well enjoy the weekend. TUESDAY – December 23, 2008

Last year at this time I just found out that I was accepted by Dr Burt to get a Stem Cell Transplant and that I had to fly out on January 18th. So much has happened since then. This is also the first Winter that I am going to try staying around to see how my body has adjusted to the cold. So all of you are stuck with me all Winter. I’m really feeling good but I have to run because I have a lot of errands to do today. Mike

MONDAY – December 22, 2008

Now this is cold weather but as a comparison, Chicago was still colder than this last year. At least by the end of the week our weather will improve whereas in Chicago, it is like this all winter. I’m feeling good today but will probably stay indoors and keep warm. That’s the only bad thing with this weather. I feel like we are just existing and not enjoying life because it is to cold to function. At least I know one group of people that functioned very well last night in the cold…..my NY GIANTS. FRIDAY – December 19, 2008

Well it is starting to snow here and it looks so beautiful. I just wish that I could go outside and enjoy the cool weather. I can’t even go into my basement and get out the snowblower because of the mold in the basement. My sister sent me something about an osonator which is supposed to kill mold. I will research that today. I feel really good. My body and joints feel flexible and I have no problem getting around. Enjoy the snow and be careful. I will see you on Monday. Mike

THURSDAY – December 18, 2008

I’m feeling really good today. The weather is not affecting me so far and I am able to move around with ease and no pain. My sinuses are the only thing that are bothering me. Joe came yesterday and tore part of my basement wall down and there is no black mold but now it is all white which is even more dangerous for me because the white that is on the wall are spores. There next stage of development is the air born stage so I intend to stay out of the basement until this is fixed. Enjoy the weather and have a pleasant day. Mike

WEDNESDAY – December 17, 2008

Now this weather is really getting crazy. Yesterday as I was driving it was raining and then it started to snow and then hail. I really think that the weather machine upstairs is wacko. I mentioned yesterday that we would be meeting with the State Reps to see if our marina in Perth Amboy would be designated as a “Clean Marina” in the State of NJ. Well we passed and that makes me feel really good knowing that I did something real important for my city after all that it has given me. I feel good but my sinuses feel clogged or I should say that there is a lot of pressure between my eyes. They will be starting the work today on my basement to remove the mold. I’m sure that will make me feel better. Keep warm. Mike

TUESDAY – December 16, 2008

What a beautiful day it was yesterday. I could take that kind of weather year round. I feel very good today but I’m having a hard time falling to sleep at night. That is the least of my worries. Today they start working on removing the mold in my basement. I’m hoping that that will be the solution to all of my problems. There is a big meeting at the Perth Amboy Marina today. I wrote a proposal to the State for our marina to be added to the list of Clean Marinas in the State of NJ. Members from the State DEP will be in our office today to determine if we qualify. This is what keeps me and my mind busy. Have a nice day. Mike
